NCCO8 National Conference - Call for Poster Sessions
The National Collegiate Choral Organization's (NCCO) peer-reviewed journal, The Choral Scholar (TCS), invites submissions for a conference poster session. By providing a forum for scholars to present new ideas and topics, the sponsors of the poster session hope to encourage new research and dialogue, possibly leading to future publication.
Further Information
Any topic directly relating to choral music is acceptable; however, it is recommended that topics be directed to a college/university audience. Research that has been presented elsewhere (in print or otherwise) must clearly state where and when it has appeared. Material currently out for review must be identified as well.
Applicants accepted for the poster session will be expected to prepare a large-scale poster containing text and graphics illustrating the main points of their research. During the session, applicants will stand with their poster and engage in conversation with conference attendees. Handouts are acceptable, but not required. Some applicants will be invited to give a brief (5--10 minute) oral presentation at the beginning of the poster session. Computer projection and audio playback will be provided for the oral presentations only. Other multimedia aspects of posters (iPad, laptop, etc.) must be provided by applicants (who will responsible for locating power supply and ensuring the safety of their personal property).
Successful applicants will be invited for a poster session or a poster session with 5--10 minute oral presentation.
To Apply
Each applicant should submit:
- 300--500 word abstract. Abstracts might include a partial bibliography or description of the poster layout, where applicable.
- Short biographical sketch of fewer than 200 words including prior publications and presentations.
Deadline: All materials must be submitted by May 1, 2019, 11:59p CST.
Notification: Results will be announced by June 15, 2019.
